THIRD WARD TX, the movie, 2 minute trailer, directed by Andrew Garrison, a six year labor that I was honored to be assigned while working at HoustonPBS. It contains the philosophy, art, history and community behind Project Row Houses. This art/community development project is the cornerstone of the long list of reasons why Rick Lowe was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship “Genius Grant”. I cannot begin to describe how lovely it was to wander through this community with a microphone.

A doc I had the privilege to do sound on for six years. Such an honor to get to explore Project Row so deeply. The Third Ward is truly one of Houston’s richest neighborhoods.

You are too kind Andy. I just heard from Julie Grob who is the archivist at UH Library in charge of the Third Ward Texas archive. She is very excited, and I’m glad all that work is available for study as it should be!
